West London Waste emerges highest paid vendor in Hillingdon

West London Waste Authority got the biggest chunk of Hillingdon Council funds spent on social services as it emerged the highest paid vendor for services rendered in 2020 and 2021 according to data published by the Hillingdon Council on its website.

The data also reveals that in the years under review, the Hilligndon Council spent a total of £470m on services in arrears like health, education, transport and advertising among others.

A further breakdown reveals that £170m was spent in 2020 while £300m was spent in 2021 giving a grand total of £470m spent in both years.

West London Waste, the highest beneficiary of allocations was paid £140m for both years representing 30% of the total expenditure during the period under review. These allocations were done between October 2019 and September 2020 and described as other levies.

Another beneficiary was West London Ltd which got £43, 000 for vehicle contract hire from October 2019 to May 2020.


A total of 70m was paid to the health sector in 2020 while a total of £266m was paid out in 2021. Consequently a total of £335m was paid out in 2020 and 2021 respectively to the health sector.

For maintenance services, the sum of £20, 000 was paid in 2020 by Hillingdon Council while in 2021, the sum of £50, 000 pounds was paid for maintenance resulting in a grand a grand total of £75, 000 pounds . Average spend in 2020 was £13 while average spend for 2021 was £10.

However, the council spent a lot of money on litigation, an area which gulped a whopping £1.1m which was paid to William Marshal & Partners.
