Victor Moses: Why I extended my contract at Spartak Moscow

Victor Moses recently signed a contract extension with Spartak Moscow, a deal that will keep him at the capital outfit until at least the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Though the former Nigeria national teamer was offered fresh terms due to his excellent performances on the pitch especially in the group stage of the Europa League, the midfielder admitted that Spartak Moscow's appointment of Paolo Vanoli as coach was a factor that influenced his decision to commit his long-term future to the Red and Whites.
Moses worked with Vanoli at Chelsea for two seasons when the Italian was assistant manager to Antonio Conte and in the second half of the 2019-2020 season at Inter Milan.
When asked if Paolo Vanoli influenced his decision to extend his contract with Spartak Moscow, Moses told Spartak Moscow's YouTube channel : "Yes 100 percent. He's a top manager, worked with top people in the game.
"It's nothing new to me, I have worked with him for three years and I'm delighted to see him here and obviously I'm going to do all my best.
"I know the players, everyone, we are going to work hard together as a team and make sure we achieve what we want to achieve this season and become successful as a team."
A Europa League winner with Chelsea in 2013, Moses has directly participated in four goals (1 goal, 3 assists) in this season's competition, helping Spartak Moscow advance to the round of sixteen as Group C winners.
Moses could play his first competitive game under new Spartak boss Vanoli on February 26 in the derby with Chidera Ejuke's CSKA Moscow.
