Nigerian popular online comedian and actor, Debo Adebayo professionally known as Mr. Macaroni has criticized the NDLEA over Comedian Iam Degeneral’s arrest.
Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Wednesday stormed the home of Sunday Joshua Martins, popularly known as Iam Degeneral.
The officials reportedly manhandled the popular comedy skit maker before arresting him.
The comedian in a video could be seen being beaten by the officials as he recorded the arrest.
A female official of the agency could be heard, telling the comedian that he does not have the right to record them despite his calls for him to be allowed to express his fundamental human rights.
“This one that you’re just talking anyhow, it’s just because of our oga that is on ground. All these videos that you’re also doing, you don’t have the right to do them,” one of the officials said.
Mr Macaroni, however, condemned the mode of Degeneral’s arrest.
“So you people’s work is to enter people’s houses in the middle of the night to beat and harass citizens. This is happening right now. We don’t know where they have taken him to. Oppressors everywhere,” he tweeted.
